Good guess - it has been asked a million times, and Dzjudz gave you the usual answer.

GW 2 is a hoax ;-) They're just telling us these things so we'd keep playing and hopefully spend some cash on their silly updates.
Oh yah, and they're taking over the world .. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA srsly, no one knows |

sorry for my bad english...
In PC magazine (CD-Action) there was a news that GW2 will be delayed > Probably till 2010 (Spring), but Beta should be released out as soon as possible (or when it's done like Duke Nukem Forever lol) |

One thing you have to remember Our game developers and what not are descended from Blizzard. They have a lot of experience using the it'll be done when it's done concept. They will tell us stuff only when it is nearly complete.

IMHO they should not have even mentioned GW2 and gone with a couple hokey EotN add-ons until GW2 was beyond alpha...this would have prevented this and the other thousand or so "GW2 info plz" threads from being written in the first place and saved a lot of speculation and frustration throughout the community. They are so tight-lipped about the development of the game and not forthcoming about information/announcements/delays/concepts and whatnot, that the mere mention of it (oh, so long ago) seems by now a great and tragic farse. At this point, I, and everyone on my friends list and guild have quit playing except forr the occasional event. My friends list is full and has been dark for over a year...with the exception of my 11 year old nephew who got the game last year.
I started the game during the February beta weekend event and loved it. I had my brief moment of in-game fame with a "Design-a-weapon" winning entry (only took a year to impliment into the game...I quit playing for a while because of it, declared my resignation publicly and was PM'd by Gaile shortly thereafter with news it would be in game in a week or two, and it was! I farmed until I got it...then had nothing left to play for. Occasionally, I log in...check the /age of my toons looking for a b-day present...log in during events for masks (dissapointed this year) and treats...now, knowing GW2 is probably so far away and there's nothing left to do but grind for titles...I have 15 maxed and don't really care to make it more. I'm on the verge of freeing up some harddrive space by uninstalling the game and reloading only if I need to for GW2...anyone else feel sort of let down? When i hear "when it's done" i always think about Duke Nukem Forever. I know that i shouldn't compare ANet and 3D Realms when talking about their ability to "turn words into things"
